Quick words that describe the Hanse 455

Fast Cruising

Easy Sailing

Individual Customization

Innovative Design

Design by judel / vrolijk & Co –

safe,

speedy

state-of-the-art

Made for single-handed sailing

self-tacking jib

perfect rope control

Ingeniously designed cockpit

well-sized for sailing and relaxing

Combine all this and it's '"Perfect Together"

Everything within easy reach

You will be surprised. You can sail this yacht single or short handed, whenever you like. Setting, hauling in, shortening and trimming the 103 m² sails can be carried out comfortably and all from the helmsman's position. From there you will have a complete overview at all times. At HANSE, we call that
"Easy Sailing“. Once you have experienced it. You never want to sail without it anymore!

The self tacking roller furling jib is all controlled from the helm station and being self tacking, there is nothing for the helmsman or crew to do when you have to tack up the channel other than turn the boat.

Just stepping into the cockpit of  "Perfect Together" you can instantly feel the quality and comfort of this sensibly designed and well built yacht. You can begin to appreciate the quality and precision of the German Engineering in all the Hanse Yachts. The twin wheels allow you free access forward and a very open space aft to steer and control not just the helm but everything necessary to raise the sails, shorten or drop sails altogether with 2 electric winches to assist you with raising or trimming. Engine controls and bow thruster are to starboard. The sheets and halyards can be stashed out of the way in lockers just next to the helmsman's position. The cockpit floor and non-skid areas have real teak for solid footing as well as being very attractive. The swim platform (also with a teak deck) drops down to give you a large area for swimming or sun bathing. Easy access to the water and back to the cockpit.

Two Pedestals each with B&G chart plotters are located just forward of the wheels give the helmsman confidence that he is not lost. Visibility is excellent from the helm both standing or sitting and the bimini keeps the sun from the direct rays of the sun.

There are handholds on the pedestals and handholds on the cockpit table which also serves as an additional cooler with a refrigerated compartment for the beverage of your choice.

Perfect Together came with the standard Mast and Main but lazy jacks, full length battens, and the sail cover work wonderfully together to control the sail when dropping into the canvas cover which is simply then zipped up.

The flush decks have covers over the lines coming from the mast so everything is clean and you don't have to worry about stepping on a line which are led back to the cockpit into sheet stoppers. (There is a step on the mast to help put the sail cover around the sail and mast).

Side stays are all the way outside so the path to the bow is very easy and open. The foredeck space is very spacious and open and the anchor locker is big enough to stand up and walk around inside. There is a separate compartment for the anchor chain and rode). The anchor platform with the plow anchor extends forward of the roller furler and bow and the windlass easily pulls the anchor up and leads the chain into the locker.

Walk through below deck

Going down the companionway steps you enter into a wonderful bright saloon with lots of natural light from hatches above and side windows along the cabin top with lower side windows amidships just about eye level when sitting in the main cabin.

There is a nice size aft cabin with full size double bed and Standing Head Room on starboard with access from the Galley with Black Quartz countertops, Top/side opening refrigerator, 3 burner propane stove, and double ss sink. Storage lockers and an additional front opening refrigerator can hold lots of supplies and galley gear.

There are handholds and round corners to keep you steady in rough seas.

Aft on Port is another full cabin with double bed and standing headroom matching the cabin on Starboard. Just forward of the port aft cabin is a nice size head with plenty of room to move around and a shower stall that can be separated off to keep clothes and towels dry while showering.

Just forward of the head is the Nav Station where the heart of the electrical systems are located. Starting with the VHF Radio, Generator controls and the circuit breaker panel with a 12 volt (cigarette lighter plug in) and USB outlet are located all over the desk behind a cabinet door. Under the cabinet door is the Fusion Stereo System control and a desk lamp. The AC switches are mounted under the desk. There are a pair of lounge chairs on either side of a center table facing into the boat on the port side and still plenty of room for someone to walk through to the forward cabin.

On Starboard is a very comfortable "U" shaped seating area around the dining table and a large seat (and storage box) for an additional seat at the table. After dinner, the table can drop down to become a comfortable double bed allowing an extra couple to sleep aboard.

There is No Compression post. The entire bulkhead between the main saloon and the forward Cabin is a "load bearing wall" This wall is extra strong and is re-enforced with Kevlar (it might be bullet proof). One side benefit of this is when you close the door to the forward cabin, it becomes virtually sound proof.

In the forward Cabin is a centerline queen size bed with an extra thick mattress. Storage lockers and compartments and the nicest feature below on the boat is that the nice size shower stall is on Starboard and the forward head is on port, Totally separated.
