Overview

Price reduction of $11,000 on 2/28/13.   New asking price of $114,000 makes this Bristol 38.8 the best-priced  model in North America!  A one-owner 1983 Bristol 38.8 keel/centerboard sloop with many upgrades.   She has an excellent sail inventory, upgraded roller furling, carbon fiber spinnaker pole, radar, autopilot, GPS/plotter, inverter charger, like new dodger, and very nice brightwork.  This Bristol has been well maintained by her owners.   The white hull has shiny gelcoat, and the contrasting non skid in light gray is in excellent condition.   The standing rigging has been replaced, and running rigging is like new.   The interior joinery is in fine condition, too, and the cushions are a tasteful navy blue with a subtle pattern.  The owners' berth has a custom orthopaedic-style mattress;  Headroom is about 6' 8" in the salon, and about 6'4" in the forward cabin and head.

The Bristol 38.8 is a Ted Hood design. She features New England-quality construction with a solid, hand-laid fiberglass hull.  Ballast is internal to the hull, so no keel bolts to worry about.   The Bristol 38.8 is a keel/centerboard design, so she draws only 4'6" with the board up.  So this is a great boat for shoal waters like the Chesapeake Bay , Bahamas, Barnaget Bay, etc.  Her double spreader rig, and inboard shrouds provide good upwind performance.   The 19,000 displacement makes her a capable, comfortable offshore performer.   Bristol 38 owners cruise their boats, and this lovely example has been to Maine and New England a number of times.  Here is a chance to purchase a one-owner Bristol 38.8 with many upgrades.
