Overview

A great 28' Express from one of Maine's best boat builders, Ralph Ellis . A lovely boat for afternoon cruises with friends or as an weekender for two. The large wide open cockpit makes for wonderful entertaining area and will easily handle 8-10 friends for an afternoon cruise. The 28' was the most popular design of the Ellis yachts and is a great handling boat.  She has spent her entire life in Maine and was reconditioned by Ellis Boat Works last year before coming South. The hull was repainted in '11 and new bottom paint in '15. She was stored indoors during the Maine winters and has been maintained in very good condition. She has recently had a new turbo installed and the prop tuned for increased speed and performance.

Descriptions

Improvements since '08

Engine was pulled in '08 and cleaned, painted, new mounts, hoses and fittings. A new holding tank was installed at this time as well and hydraulic deck hatches.

In '09 exterior teak trim was added to the cabin and new canvas was installed. Headroom under soft-top is 6'5".  Canvas is in very good condition.

In '11 the hull was painted and a new GPS was installed.

Prior to coming south in '15, the engine was completely serviced and a new heat-exchanger was installed.  Fuel tanks were cleaned and polished along with new bottom paint. A new depth and speed log was added as well. All bright work was stripped and varnished.

This boat continues to be maintained in top condition.
