TRIPP 41 UPGRADES

DECK, CABIN TOP & SIDES AND COCKPIT

Every piece of deck hardware including chainplates and stanchion bases removed in advance of all surfaces being filled with epoxy filler then primed and painted using Alexseal Yacht Coatings.  Deck and cockpit horizontal surfaces sprayed with nonskid grit.  All hardware reinstalled and bedded more often with new SS fasteners.  2008

Stbd socket used for forward SS bolt for mounting of removable semi-custom  SS extended anchor roller.

Port Socket used for forward ring for removable Seldin retracting aluminum sprit for A symmetric cruising spinnaker

 SIDE DECKS-MID & AFT

 Harken #75 Cheek blocks with locking cams for mainsheet added port and stbd with new angled wedge blocks.  Upgraded blocks allow mainsheet to be locked-off freeing up mainsheet winches to be used for trimming changing sheet for headsail changes or to used for docking lines.  Fast release pins added to keep cams locked in open position until needed.    2008

 Lifeline boarding gates added port and stbd .  Additional SS support legs added to existing stanchions to take fore/aft strain.  SS Pelican hooks and fittings swedged  to lifelines.  2008

 Schaffer removable cleat sockets model     and removable cleats model   added port and stbd.  Area below deck greatly reinforced to accommodate backing plates.  Cleats removed for racing.  Can be moved to bow sockets if needed.  2008

 SS chafe strips and aft and outboard of new aft cleats port and stbd.  2008

 Aft  SS pushpits port and stbd.  SS bolts welded to center leg to permit proper through bolting of pushpits.  2008

 COCKPIT

Installed 2 new Lewmar ports model       .   One placed at forward end of stbd aft bunk.  One placed at aft end of port aft cabin greatly improving ventilation in both spaces.  2008

 Engine control panel moved from aft face of stbd cockpit locker to stbd aft cockpit adjacent to engine control lever and mounted in SSI recessed engine control cabinet with plexiglass cover.  2008

 Navtec hydraulic backstay control panel moved from inboard face of stbd cockpit locker to aft space of locker to more easily accessed by mainsheet trimmer.  2008

  Navimo plastic deck hatch installed in base of stbd cockpit locker.  Provides access to stbd aft bunk storage area from locker as well as increased ventilation.  Teak trim added in stbd aft bunk area  2008.

 2 SSI recessed speaker (5”) and cupholder assemblies installed in aft cockpit port and stbd.  2008

B & G autopilot controller moved from port side of aft cockpit to stbd side adjacent to engine controls.  2008

Navimo plastic deck hatch (12” x 12” opening) mounted in port aft cockpit to provide access to storage area below cockpit.  2008

 Navimo cockpit shower unit mounted aft of deck hatch in port aft cockpit.  Hot and cold water pvc piping run to engine compartment.  2008

 220 V shore power socket moved from stbd side of aft cockpit to port side aft of cockpit shower unit.  New cabling run to electrical panel.  2008

 Recessed SS brackets             for semi-custom removable swimming ladder mounted at rear of port aft cockpit.  2009

 INTERIOR-General

All composite surfaces painted with Awlgrip white paint with flattener added.  Wooden bunk supports recoated with spar varnish.  Teak trim coated with satin varnish.  2008-2009

 Teak and holly cabin soul stripped and recoated with 2 part super hard acrylic varnish.  All recessed latches replaced.  2005

FORWARD CABIN

 Custom 27 gal plastic holding tank and bracket installed portside under V berth.  New vent hose run to existing topsides thru-hull fitting.  2008

Access port with recessed latch installed on stbd side to provide access to storage below V berth.   2008

HEAD

 New composite cabinetry with teak trim and recessed latches installed along port inner hull to provide added storage. 

2 access ports with recessed latches installed to provide access to unused storage spaces.  2008

 New Jabsco head installed with new hose, T and elbow fittings and SS hose clamps.  Whale trash pump mounted under counter top to permit pumping of contents of holding tank to thru-hull fitting while at sea.  New hose run to deck fitting for holding tank pump out.  2008

GALLEY

 Sink relocated closer to the centerline to provide for more counter space.  New sink drain fitting installed to allow for better drainage on port tack.  2008

 New SSI storage bin with teak trimmed cover installed in countertop adjacent to stove.  2008

 New custom made drawer with recessed latch installed between stove and relocated sink.  2008

 CENTRAL CABIN AREA

 Base for settee berths raised 6”.  Composite panels installed below berths to provide for separated storage space aft of water bladder tanks.  This allows for sitting on the settee without your knees in your chin as well as at the proper height to use the center table.  It also provides added height so that the water bladder tanks can be fully filled.  2008

 Settee backs/upper bunks raised 3”.  Aluminum frames reconfigured and mounted in custom made aluminum brackets allowing the bunks to swivel into the raised position as well as being adjusted depending upon heel.   Cushions recut to match adjusted frame.  2008
