Presenting "Off Islander" a 2000 Legacy 40 flybridge motoryacht with many custom details, and in wonderful condition. Among the prettiest yachts in the region, and for the discriminating yachtsmen.

To duplicate this Legacy 40 today would be  approximately $1,000,0000 and a year or more to build.   Bow and stern thrusters make docking a snap  And the single 450C Cummins diesel offers 17-knot cruise speed, while cutting maintenance in half over twins and cutting fuel use by about one third over twin diesels.

OFF ISLANDER is a true yachtsman's New England-styled Down East vessel. Efficient and fast with a single 450 hp Cummins diesel, she is also very easy to handle short-handed with bow and stern thrusters. The full keel protects the prop from soft groundings and debris. The Mark Ellis design Legacy 40 is renown for excellent performance in adverse conditions delivering a soft, stable, quiet ride that tracks straight and with under water exhaust is fume free.

Off Islander may be the most highly customized Legacy 40 ever built. Her experienced owners considered every detail and added many custom options for equipment and aesthetics including a modification to create a reverse curve on the flybridge for an enhanced profile. Teak decks and varnished cap rails and lifelines add a level of class missing from many modern low maintenance look alikes. Two staterooms, a bright, airy galley under a cathedral ceiling, and a glorious varnished mahogany interior with many custom cabinetry details, place this boat among the very elite yachts built in America. Fully equipped with a complete compliment of electronics and systems, she is in the water, commissioned, and ready now for your summer cruise. This special yacht truly must be seen. Do not delay. Please take time to read the Full Specs attached and make an appointment now to see this first class yacht.  Her brightwork has just been refreshed, and is ready for her next owners.  We have priced Off Islander very aggressively as the owners have a new waterfront home, and are down sizing.

The Owner's Stateroom is forward and features a large, center island upholstered queen berth with 4 roller bearing drawers, shelves and a hanging locker outboard. Overhanging "aircraft" lockers add to the storage capacity of this cabin. A large overhead screened deck hatch and stainless steel opening ports combine with the varnished mahogany wood and white laminate bulkhead Herreshoff interior to make this space bright, airy and inviting.

The Head is aft to port and includes a spacious vanity, Corian counter, Moen and Grohe plumbing fixtures, a fresh water Vacuflush toilet with holding tank macerator. Opening stainless portlight, overhead hatch and ceiling vent fan provide wonderful ventilation. A completely separate stall shower is located to stbd between the owners cabin and the guest cabin. A Kohler Rite-Temp shower valve with Kohler Revival Balancing valve Trim is installed in polished chrome. A custom hatch is installed over the shower. Access is private through doors in both cabins.

Opposite to starboard the Guest Cabin has a comfortable upholstered double berth 54" wide at the top with two extra large storage drawers below. For fresh air use the two opening stainless ports, the overhead screened hatch or switch on the A/C. There is a double wide sliding door to make this area more open to the galley.

Aft to port is the Galley which has a traditional U-shape with lots of counter surface and storage lockers. The galley is just three steps down from the Salon and is open to the windshield above creating a unique cooking experience that is bright and airy, out of the way, and close to the action. Unique to this Legacy 40 is the installation of a large size ice box aft refrigerated by Adler Barbour and also an under-counter Norcold AC/DC refrigerator/freezer. A three burner propane stainless Princess cooktop, built-in convection microwave oven, and polished stainless steel double basin sink make this a great space for meal prep. A pass-through dish locker over the sink is accessible from the salon for ease in setting the table.

The Main Salon is great for entertaining. There is an L-shaped settee to port with custom foot rests. An entertainment center with sliding tambor door is in the aft stbd corner and there is room for folding director's chairs which store in a custom locker under the sole when not in use. The helman's seat also swivels around to be part of the party. Enjoy the custom high gloss mahogany hi/lo drop leaf table for dinner or cocktails. The settee converts to a berth for those rare occassions when extra sleeping space is needed. The helm console is offset to starboard and is complete with built in electronics pod. There are sliding doors to port and starboard for easy access to the wide side decks and a door aft to the cockpit. The windshields forward are clear glass and fixed while the windows aft slide open with screens and are tinted bronze. White linen curtains with red accents coupled with custom red upholstery from S&S Fabrics give the all varnish mahogany main salon a very rich and inviting appeal. Varnished teak and holly sole throughout both levels compliment the traditional look.
