Life on the water…What is it to be a boater?

Throughout our boating journey, one question resonates deeply within us: what draws us to the water? For me, it’s been about living out my dreams and embracing every opportunity to be on the waves. Engaging with both power and sail enthusiasts over the years has revealed diverse motivations – from the thrill of racing to the tranquility of a leisurely sail. Many seek the allure of exploration, embarking on extended cruises across the Bay and beyond.

Lately, we’ve noticed a rising interest in fishing among some of our clients, a trend we find intriguing.

At North Point, we cherish all forms of time spent on the water and endeavor to support your passions while also introducing you to new experiences. Undoubtedly, life on the water yields unforgettable memories that bind families together for generations.

Reflecting on my own journey, I trace my love for the sea back to my childhood days near Philadelphia. Summers spent on Long Beach Island ignited my fascination with the ocean, especially witnessing the sunrise with my father before venturing out to crab and fish in the bay. These early experiences planted the seeds of my dreams and fueled my determination to pursue them.

My sailing skills flourished when my family moved to Annapolis, exposing me to the joys of the Bay. Endless days racing honed my abilities, eventually leading to ocean racing challenges. Combined with fond memories of deep-sea fishing with my father and summers on a commercial fishing boat, these experiences instilled in me the unwavering passion for the waters, from the Bay to the boundless expanse of the ocean.

Observing my own family grow alongside the water brings me immense joy. Watching my children embrace the sea and witnessing my wife Jen’s journey to becoming a proficient boater have enriched our lives beyond measure. This shared passion has strengthened our family bonds and opened doors to countless opportunities.

The essence of being a boater lies in the continuous pursuit of knowledge and experiences. There’s always more to learn, more to explore. So, I urge you all to keep striving for more. Life on the water is truly incomparable, and I invite you to share your cherished memories with us this summer.

Finally, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all of you for allowing us to be a part of your boating journey.
